THE STORY
Living Revolution was honored to bring its expertise to the recent expansion of Edgewood Valley Country Club (EVCC), a private, member-owned club nestled in Burr Ridge and renowned as a “hidden gem” in Chicagoland. Living Revolution provided furnishings that complemented EVCC’s new 10,000-square-foot addition, which expanded dining and event spaces within the club’s iconic Tudor-style clubhouse, adjacent to an 18-hole golf course. With origins dating back to 1910, EVCC entrusted Living Revolution to add a touch of elegance and functionality to its latest renovation.
The renovation was more than just a physical expansion; it was a reimagining of the club’s aesthetic while respecting its historical roots. With the campaign slogan “Elevate Edgewood,” the goal was to merge the timeless Tudor style of the original clubhouse with a modern, elevated design. This vision demanded furnishings that balanced tradition and contemporary sophistication—something durable enough to withstand regular use by members and guests, yet luxurious and comfortable to enhance their experience.
EVCC members played an active role throughout the renovation, making the project feel deeply personal. Not only did the members vote to approve the renovation, but some contributed to the design process, adding a personal touch to the final vision. Their involvement ensured the design reflected their collective vision for the club’s future.
For the dining and event spaces, we carefully selected durable furnishings that could accommodate large gatherings while still offering comfort and a sense of home. The design palette focused on dark blues, browns, rich woods, plaid patterns, and animal hides—classic elements that aligned with the club’s traditional aesthetic. Our programming process was collaborative: understanding the client’s needs, aligning with the A&D team’s vision, and presenting furniture options that honored both the club’s history and the desired modern look.
During the installation, an unforeseen delay in the bar area flooring could have disrupted the project timeline. However, Living Revolution swiftly adapted, arranging for the delivered furniture to be temporarily stored in another part of the facility. This flexibility ensured that the project stayed on schedule, allowing us to complete the installation as soon as the flooring was finished.
In collaboration with our sister companies, Rework and Custom Crafters, we provided the finishing touches that truly elevated Edgewood Valley Country Club. Rework played an essential role by preserving and reupholstering some of the club’s original furniture, refreshing conference room chairs, boardroom seating, and pieces in the private dining area. This sustainable approach gave these timeless pieces a modern flair while preserving their original assembly. Additionally, Custom Crafters created a bespoke conference table specifically designed for a uniquely shaped room. Crafted in four separate pieces, the table could be assembled to create one cohesive, functional centerpiece.
The renovation of Edgewood Valley Country Club was a carefully orchestrated blend of history and modernity. By working closely with the members, the A&D team, and our sister companies, Living Revolution helped transform the club’s spaces, offering an elevated and timeless design. From custom furniture solutions to sustainable reupholstering, every detail was crafted to reflect the club’s tradition while embracing a contemporary, elevated look. The members were thrilled with the outcome, as the new furnishings provided the perfect finishing touch to the much-anticipated renovation, helping to elevate Edgewood to new heights.
